1. Yesterday's Wordless Wednesday "What's Under The Microscope?" was the head of a flea.  Yes, the use of  "frontline" in the title was a clue.  Congrats to Sandee for being the first one to guess "flea."

  2. And yes, after the latest addition to my four-pawed clan, it was Frontline for everyone!  Hence, this week's WW inspiration.

  3. Yesterday morning, my friend Monica came to visit me at the store, and I got to play with her new iPod Touch.  Freakin' amazing that you can access the internet, e-mail, weather, maps, and YouTube from that tiny little thing.  As well as play songs, of course!  I was blown away by the sound quality, and got to listen to "Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves" and "Delta Dawn."  It was sa-weeet, and now I totally get why Miss Bee wanted an iPhone.

  4. Last night I went to my first Tai Chi class.  On the enrollment form there was a "why are you taking this class" question, and me being the smartass that I am, I answered, "Because Bessie dragged me here."

  5. Actually, the class was interesting and fun.  I was self-conscious, being in front of a dance mirror in a group doing something physical, and I am so un-coordinated when it comes to memorizing a routine. Fortnately it was a class for beginners, and I wasn't the only one who looked more like a Flailing Weeble than a Balancing Crane.   The class made me feel more energized instead of relaxed, which surprised me, and I just hope I can get the routine down more so I can get some of the Tai Chi benefits from it.

  6. At the end of class, the instructor thanked Bessie for "dragging me" there.  The facility is just around the corner from my apartment, and she also has exercise classes that Bessie and I might look into after I return from vacation.

  7. After the class, I took Bessie out for a salad bar dinner - and we ended up getting the broiled chicken fettucini alfredo dinner special with our salad bar.  Deeeelish!

  8. After dinner, Bessie and I went for a nice long walk around some of the neighborhoods nearby that I'd never ventured into.  With me having new walking shoes biting into my ankle, and Bessie's trick knee, we made quite a pair!

  9. But we saw a huge orb weaver spider spinning her web in the low-hanging branches of a maple tree, and I thought that was so cool.  Bessie, of course, got the spidery heebie-jeebies.

  10.  Then we saw a big cicada on the sidewalk, and she said, "When I was a kid, we didn't call 'em cicadas, we called 'em something else..."    I guessed, "A locust?"  She was amazed that I knew that.

  11. Two weeks from today is September 11th.  Aside from being the seventh anniversary of that fateful day, it's also the day I begin my vacation!!!!  Yes, two weeks from today I get to fly to Boston and give my Mags a great big HUG!

  12. No, I haven't even started thinking about packing yet.  However, yesterday the UPS guy brought my new New Balance walking shoes (just in time for my Tai Chi class - and then we did the class in our socks, naturally!) and a super cool new hoodie sweatshirt (perfect for late nights on the beach with my sexy beach babes!).

  13. So this T13 is a far cry from last week's psycho-Mo-meltdown, eh?  I'm still not back 100% up to visiting blogs and leaving comments - I do read some in my Google Reader, and blogs with Entrecard when I'm doing my daily drops.   And awards and meme-tags still are just not in my comfort zone right now.  Thanks for your understanding, and for your kind words over the past week.  Hope y'all have a great Labor Day Weekend (is it just me or does it seem like summer just flew by this year?) and please support a local small business in your area this holiday weekend.  Cheers! ~mo

    I love Tai Chi.I have an audio on my MP3 player that I follow along with when I forget my routine. It totally calms me down when I feel like clubbing the people who run my local NPR station who decided NOT to carry NPR's coverage of the convention... but to do Barack's speech with a Spanish interpreter talking over the whole thing.

    Very worried about Bill. I'm going to talk with my post office and see what they say about him disappearing. Ten days ought to be enough?

  11. Lorianna Says:

    Hi sweet Mo! It sounds as if you enjoyed your evening. Tai Chi is very good exercise and much easier than yoga if you have limited mobility.
    I hope you have lots of fun with your friends on vacation. I have a feeling there won't be a dull moment! ;)
    Have a great Friday!
    Hugs,
    Lorianna

    3. I ♥ Delta Dawn! I want an IPOD touch. *sniff*

    4. Hmmmm...I guess I'll have to find something to take off my baby fat after she's born. *sigh*

    5. Doing anything in front of a mirror completely turns me off!

    6. Maybe next time you'll drag Bessie there. :)

    7. Dinner sounds YUMMY!

    8. You walked afterward too?! You must be down 10lbs by now.

    9. Spiders ARE NOT cool, Mo...sorry!

    10. We call 'em locusts here too.

    11. I am so excited for your vacation. I can't wait to hear all about it!!!

    12. Brien wears New Balance shoes. He likes the higher arches in 'em.

    13. Summer DID fly by here too. Have a great weekend, Mo!!!

    #3 I want one.

    #4 Tai Chi? Really? I am very impressed! How cool!

    #5 I can be a flailing weeble even WITHOUT the Tai Chi.

    #7 "chicken fettucini alfredo"... now I'm drooling.

    #9 How huge?

    #13 You remain in my thoughts every day. I look forward to your next Jannaverse visit, whenever you're ready.

  15. How funny! I took a photo of a beautiful garden spider this afternoon! I couldn't get the lighting right, though and the photo isn't very good. The spider wouldn't cooperate with me. I love garden spiders...and the "skank" lizards.
    ~~~Blessings~~~
  16. you are lucky to be going to see Mags. enjoy
  17. Janna Says:
    BTW, I've heard of cicadas, and I've heard of locusts, but I never really thought of them as the same thing.
    Are they really?...?
